Moving Mommy Monday

So we were scheduled to go to the Rock n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon on Friday but plans changed. I thought I would be disappointed but it wasn’t that bad. I had a great weekend with my family.

Saturday, I went for a walk with my mom, aunt, brother and little one. Two miles with a couple of hills. We went out for breakfast and I realized that switching to a plant-based diet MUST be something you WANT to do because it can be a challenge ordering something from any restaurant. I thought I would be ok with steamed carrots but they were steamed in chicken broth, oh my goodness! Ok fine I’ve learned to be a lot more patient since becoming a mom so I ended up ordering cabbage, black eyed peas and a corn and spinach mix. Then we waited for AAA to come help us get our car started again. UGH!! The guy that came was really nice and got the car started in no time so we headed to a park for just a few minutes while my aunt popped in a friends cookout. Then off to a third park. Saturday was loaded with fun.

I woke up Sunday and headed out for my 16 mile run with my running buddy. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I do need to improve my time but that will come when I get back on schedule FINALLY!! I went on only 1 run last week and NO cross training for the past 6 weeks or so…NOT GOOD! After my run, we headed to the Jersey Shore for my little ones first beach experience. That was so much fun. The weather was great, overcast but still warm enough to enjoy the water, and since the sun wasn’t BEAMING we didn’t have to worry too much about the little one.

Oh and did I mention my hubby stayed in the entire weekend to catch up on some much needed rest. When I got home it was spotless. NICE!! AND my boy is taking steps on his own now, 9 has been the most so far.

So not going to VA Beach wasn’t bad AT ALL!! I got my run in which was why I was going, I spent loads of time with my family AND we saved some cash. YES!! This weekend was AWESOME! Hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend!

Making moves as a mommy…it’s a work in progress😉
